Birth is a Bodily Function
You don’t go to the doctor when you just need to poop, though now that I’ve said it there’s a hospital executive wondering if he can convince people they need to. A normal, healthy birth is the same way - it’s a basic function of the body since time before time.

Of course most folks have a lot more practice pooping than giving birth. That’s why it’s good to have a guide, someone who can help you understand what you’re feeling, answer your questions, and lend you the strength of their experience.
Guided by Instinct
There are eight billion people on the planet and who knows how many more going back thousands of generations. That doesn’t happen because a handful of white coated experts take control. Birthing people have always known how to give birth, from the savannah to the steppes to the suburbs healthy babies have been born in all manner of circumstances.

The best birth experience for you and your child will be guided by your unique body, your instincts and wisdom.
Evidence based
Home births are safe. When you’re relaxed and comfortable, when you can eat and drink freely, your body is able to do what it needs to. The best science we have shows that home birth with a midwife you trust and who knows you is the safest option for people with low-risk pregnancies.
Our initial appointment involves a thorough discussion of your health history to be sure that home birth is a good option for you.
A Sacred Space
Birthing in your own space, which you have designed to be comfortable and accessible for you, allows you to open and welcome your birth. I carry deep respect for the sacredness of your birthing space, and see that my role involves protecting it. In your birthing space, all focus is on you.
